This California law, effective January 1, 2025, prohibits the manufacture, sale, or distribution of new textile articles (e.g., apparel, accessories, household textiles) containing intentionally added perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
Law Obligation
- Ban on manufacture and sale of textiles with regulated PFAS (effective January 1, 2025)
- Exception for outdoor apparel for severe wet conditions until January 1, 2028
