Law Summary

Colorado’s “PFAS Chemicals Consumer Protection Act” (HB22-1345, amended by SB24-081) enacts a phased ban on intentionally added PFAS in various products. For textiles, this includes carpets and fabric treatments (from 2024), indoor textiles/furniture (from 2025), and outdoor textiles/furniture (from 2027).

Law Obligation

  • Ban on sale of outdoor apparel for severe wet conditions with intentionally added PFAS unless labelled “Made with PFAS” (effective January 1, 2025)
  • Extension to all outdoor apparel and household textiles (effective January 1, 2028)
